Dr. Angel Dowden, LCMHC-S, LPC, NCC, ACS
Dr. Angel Dowden, LCMHC-S, NCC, ACS earned her doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision at North Carolina State University. Dr. Dowden provides therapeutic support to clients at Core Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. Dr. Dowden has 19+ years of experience in counseling and counselor education.
Dr. Dowden works with all age groups, and has a particular interest in women’s issues (e.g. work-life balance, care-taking, parenting, and relationships). Dr. Dowden utilizes a diverse theoretical approach; relying on: Narrative/Talk Therapy, Person Centered, Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Counseling, Motivational Interviewing, and spirituality in counseling.
In her spare time, Dr. Dowden enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling.

Dr. Rolanda Mitchell, LCMHC-S, NCC
Dr. Rolanda Mitchell, LCMHC-S, NCC, earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Dr. Mitchell began her career as a Professional School Counselor, working with middle and high school students in Wake & Charlotte-Mecklenburg counties for a total of 7 years. In 2011, she transitioned to the clinical mental health field and began providing outpatient therapy services to children and families. Dr. Mitchell’s clinical experience includes traditional outpatient therapy, in-home services as well as school based mental health.
Dr. Mitchell is currently accepting clients from all age groups (children, adolescent, adult) with various presenting issues. Dr. Mitchell is an ally who welcomes individuals from all backgrounds. Dr. Mitchell’s theoretical orientation is Person-Centered, with an understanding that client treatment should be individualized. To that end, a number of theory-based interventions will be utilized to meet client needs, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectic Behavioral, Solution Focused and Reality therapies.

Twanna Monds, LCMHCA, NBCT-School Counseling
Twanna Monds, LCMHCA, NBCT-School Counseling, earned her master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and currently is completing her doctoral degree in Counseling and Counselor Education at North Carolina State University. Twanna Monds taught at Durham Technical Community College and has been a Professional School Counselor in the K-12 public and private school settings for over 17 years. In 2018, she started work as a clinician supporting children, adolescents, and families. Twanna Monds general theoretical counseling approaches are Cognitive-Behavioral, Reality, Person-Center, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapies.
